Who We Are

Lihoci started in 2018 in Kraków as a small group of residents who wanted their street meetings to lead to actual repairs, not just conversation. What began with two courtyards near Zwierzyniecka has grown into a team of 20 people working across 2 districts of the city. We now count 2,669 completed jobs and 1,920 clients who trusted us with their shared spaces.

Mission and Approach

Our task is straightforward: help neighbours turn agreed plans into finished work, whether that is a courtyard bench, a shared garden bed, or a stairwell repaint. We coordinate, document, and report back so that every resident knows what was done and when.

Values We Hold To

Transparency in pricing, punctuality in scheduling, and respect for every household's opinion, regardless of how small the project. Of our clients, 646 have returned for a second project, which tells us the first one was handled properly.

Neighbourhood courtyard renovation project in Kraków Team of Lihoci coordinating a shared community space repair

Neighborhood Projects

A record of work carried out with residents across two districts of Kraków since 2018. Each entry below covers what was needed, what our team of 20 did, and the result residents can use today.

Courtyard bench renovation in Zwierzyniec
Public Space

Zwierzyniec Courtyard Benches

Eleven residents requested new seating for a shared courtyard. We measured the space, sourced pressure-treated pine, and built six benches over three weekends with a rotating group of volunteers.

Community vegetable garden plot layout
Green Space

Shared Vegetable Plots

A vacant strip of land behind a block of flats was divided into 14 numbered plots. We laid gravel paths, installed a rain-collection barrel, and drew up a rota so each household waters on a fixed day.

Repainted stairwell in an apartment block
Building Upkeep

Stairwell Repaint, Block 12

Peeling paint and worn handrails had been reported by residents for months. Over four days we sanded walls, repainted with washable emulsion, and fixed two loose handrail brackets.

Children's playground safety inspection
Playground

Playground Safety Check

A parents' committee asked for an inspection of the swing frame and slide bolts. We tightened 22 loose fixings, replaced a cracked rubber tile section, and left a written maintenance log with the caretaker.

Bicycle rack installed near residential entrance
Infrastructure

Bicycle Racks, Entrance B

Residents had been leaving bicycles against the wall, blocking the path. We anchored two eight-slot racks into the pavement and repainted the nearby kerb line for better visibility at night.

Notice board rebuilt for a residents association
Communication

Association Notice Board

The old cork board had warped from rain exposure. We built a lockable glass-front board, mounted it under the existing porch roof, and handed the association two spare keys.

Recycling bin area reorganised for a housing block
Waste Management

Recycling Bay Reorganisation

Mixed waste was ending up in the paper and glass bins. We repainted the bay with clear floor markings, added laminated sorting signs, and set up a monthly check with the block caretaker.

Community room set up for resident meetings
Shared Space

Basement Room Conversion

An unused storage basement was cleared, damp-proofed along the lower wall, and fitted with folding tables and 20 stacking chairs so residents could hold monthly meetings on site.

Footpath lighting upgrade in a residential courtyard
Lighting

Courtyard Path Lighting

Three broken lamp posts along a footpath made evening walks difficult. We replaced the fittings with LED units on the existing wiring and adjusted timer settings for the autumn season.

Fence repair around a shared green area
Repair Work

Boundary Fence Repair

A storm in late spring knocked down 9 metres of wooden fencing around a shared lawn. We replaced the damaged posts, treated the new timber, and reset the gate hinge that residents had reported as stuck.

Quick, tidy, no fuss. Booked the courtyard clean-up on Tuesday, done by Thursday.

We asked Lihoci to help organise a resident meeting about our shared garden plot. They brought a printed agenda, kept the discussion on track, and sent a written summary the next day. My only gripe is that the meeting room they suggested was a bit small for the twenty-two people who showed up — next time we will book a bigger hall ourselves. Everything else, from the first phone call to the follow-up email, was handled properly.

The mediation between our building and the neighbouring block over the shared parking area actually worked. Both sides signed an agreement within three weeks. I did not expect that.

Price was fair for what we got: a full plan for our stairwell renovation vote, including the ballot wording. They were fifteen minutes late to the first site visit, which is why I am not giving five stars, but the work itself was solid.

Did the job, but communication between the two coordinators was inconsistent — I had to repeat myself once. Result was fine in the end.

Our block had been arguing about the courtyard bench for two years. Lihoci sent one of their coordinators to three consecutive resident evenings, took notes each time, and drafted a compromise proposal that got seventeen out of twenty votes. The whole process, from first contact to the final vote, took five weeks. I have already recommended them to the building across the street.

Good value. We paid less than we expected for the full mediation package and got a written agreement at the end, not just a verbal promise.

Reply came within the hour, as promised on their site. Site visit was scheduled for the same week. The report we received afterwards was thorough, though a bit dense — could use a simpler summary page for the residents who do not read the full document.

Second time we have used them for a community matter. Same reliability as the first.

The playground consultation went well overall. Turnout was lower than we hoped, but that was more about our own notice boards than anything the team did wrong. Final plan reflected the feedback we did collect.

I run the residents' council for our building and I have worked with several outside coordinators over the years. This was the first time someone actually followed through on every point discussed in the initial meeting. They set up a shared document for tracking tasks, checked in weekly, and closed out the whole waste-sorting project in six weeks. The price was within our small budget, which mattered a lot.

Good result, though the final invoice arrived a week later than promised. Not a big deal, just worth mentioning.

Straightforward process from start to finish. They explained each step before doing it, which made the whole building feel involved instead of just informed after the fact.

Solid work on our courtyard lighting proposal. One coordinator was excellent, the second seemed less familiar with our earlier conversations, so we had to re-explain some context. Outcome was still what we wanted.

Our building had been putting off the bicycle storage discussion for years. They gave us a clear three-step plan and a realistic budget range. We voted yes within a month of the first meeting.
